Wanted to remember

I took the kids to Disney this week for our last trip before we were blocked out.  Of course we went to T-Rex for a little lunch.  Brydon climbs on everything.  So at T-Rex it wasn't any different.  He was climbing on the reef and I had told him to stop.  So he was sitting on it and I looked at him and his response was, "Mom, I didn't climb up here, the floor bounced me up here!"  The kid has an answer for everything!

He's my Prince

Audrey and Brydon wanted to have a camp out aka sleep in the same room with one another tonight. We have tried this before and Brydon couldn't handle Audrey talking.  She talks non-stop before she falls asleep if she is in the bed with someone.  She will ask a million questions and tell you goodnight a hundred times.  They were actually doing pretty well staying in her room.  Then they both came out to the living room.  As they turned the corner to head back to her room I could see Brydon pick up Audrey and carry her back to the room.  She laid her head on his shoulder as he carried her.  It was one of the sweetest moments I have witnessed between them.  A few seconds later Audrey returns to tell us that Brydon carried her to her room and that she loves him and he is her prince.  Melts my heart!!  Love these two more than life itself!

Audrey....

April 19, 2014

Tucking Audrey in at night is a ritual in itself.  We have to 1, 2, 3, blastoff, read a book, sing "I surrender," and say prayers (she wants to talk to God).  And before I am allowed to leave the room we have to hug, kiss, high five, and woooo. Phew! It is exhausting and rewarding all at the same time.  This particular evening is the night before Easter.  So after finishing up our ritual she looks at me with her big blue eyes and innocently asks me "mommy, who is that?"  as she is pointing next to me.  I am confused, but she presses on asking me a couple more times. I ask who?  She says him.  I ask where?  She says right next to you. I ask where again and she firmly replies right there mommy.  At this point she starts saying he has a crown.  I say clown? She says NO crown.  I of course ask a couple more times just to be sure I am hearing her correctly.  And every time she will correct me and say CROWN.  As it is sinking in what my pure and innocent girl is probably seeing, she asks me "will he get me?" I quickly respond no he is here to protect you.  I tell her to say hi to him.  She gives him a big grin and waves saying hi.  Then looks at me asking why he won't talk to her.  The gravity of the situation is hitting me like a ton of bricks.  I can barely breath nor can I hardly believe what is happening. A million questions are running through my mind. Is this real? Am I trying to believe something just because I want to? At this point I am one big goose bump and I am trying to hold back the tears.  I quickly go get Kris and tell him what happened with her.  He goes in her room and shows her the picture "Prince of Peace" and asked her if that was who she saw.  She just smiles and says yes.

I truly believe Audrey either saw Jesus or an angel.  She has never been shown the picture before.  Nor have we ever explained to her what Jesus looked like or really talked about angels.  None of these images or ideas have been planted into her mind.  I am amazed at her innocence yet how she was able to verbalize everything to me in such and explicit way.  I do not remember the night but she had asked me once before who was in her room.  I pretty much blew her off and never really gave it a second thought.  Now I believe she had seen him before.

I tuck Audrey in.  She looks at me without any prompting and asked if he was going to come back tonight.  I tell her I don't know.  Then she starts saying how there was fire in her room.  I just listen.  She starts saying how the sword cut the fire and it was scary.  I ask if the sword broke and she says no mommy the sword did not break..... I didn't want to press any more.  I am in shock and awe and want to hear more, yet in a way I do not want to know my little girl has seen such amazing and unbelievable things.  At this point, I really need to know how to support her and what questions to ask. If any....

Audrey wants to see the "yellow Bible."  We finally figure out it is the book "Heaven is for Real" is what she is asking for.  She wants to see the picture again.  The look on her face is priceless when she see it.  She almost lights up from within.

More funny stories!

4/16/2013

This week as I was driving a car pulled out in front of me. I had to come to a quick stop and I hear Audrey in the back say "Geesh!"

On our way to the orange and blue game pappy asked if Audrey and brydon ever fight. My response was yes. Brydon's response was "like cats and dogs."

I just farted!

Gasp!!!! All over the room! My jaw to the floor and Kris just crying from laughing. So after Kris walks out of the room because he can't regain his composure I am left to discipline. Kris tries to get him to tell him where he learned fart from. I told Kris not to even bother. Brydon is like a steel trap and never rats anyone out.

So a few moments go by and Brydon is in the other room. Kris and I are whispering and brydon repeats half of what we say and asks us to tell him what else we said!! The kid is unreal!!

I got you Babe!

Brydon has taken to calling me babe instead of mommy. He say is so serious and is so stinking cute I can't even correct him. He will say, "hey babe how was your day?" or " babe, can you get me some orange juice?" The kid cracks me up.

Tonight he read me a book for the first time. He read the mightiest avengers as he read it. It was The Mighty Avengers so I will have to say it was pretty close. As he went through the pages I was amazed at how well he told the story. Just another sign of him growing up. He then proceed to read My Mommy and Me. And he had that book almost word for word. I was so proud and it was just another one of many a moments that I'm so happy to be his mommy.
